Peter Pan Live

It just so happens this minimal known, 26-year-old star of "Young ladies" has a beautiful singing voice — as smooth as twofold stir caramel frozen yogurt. Ms. Williams convincingly pulled off a British stress and was, all things considered, a certain, energetic and suitably impudent Peter Pan.
The individuals who viewed the musical "Dwindle Pan Live!" on NBC on Thursday with expectations of illuminating the Twittersphere with catty editorial were bound to bafflement. Whatever wasn't right with this execution, and there's continually something a bit off in a three-hour live TV program, it wasn't Ms. Williams.

It wasn't Christopher Walken as Captain Hook, either, despite the fact that his voice was weak and he appeared on occasion to be scrounging for the following line. Mr. Walken was no Cyril Ritchard, the on-screen character who played Hook inverse Mary Martin in the first Broadway creation. Mr. Walken didn't bite the view, and he didn't articulate the excellent lines ("That's the place the ulcer gah-NAWS") with much brio. Yet the performer brought his own strong allure, stop-begin style and hoofer muscle memory to the part. Furthermore, in his streaming dark wig and privateer outfit, he resembled the style creator John Galliano dressed as Johnny Depp for Halloween.

The grandiose, brilliantly shaded Neverland sets gave the demonstrate an enjoyably unprofessional look, yet actually this live organizing of "Diminish Pan" — supervised by the official makers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan and the chief Rob Ashford — was a great deal a greater number of driven and hard to stage than "Sound of Music Live!," which they place on NBC last year. No one fell or got tangled in their wires while flying. There was no glitch with the machine produced Tinkerbell. Indeed the genuine canine who played Nana didn't miss an im

Eric Garner were arrested during police
The former New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said he was "not enough to just watch the video" to answer questions about the death of Eric Garner during an interview with ABC News.

 Here's what else we learned:

Q: What happens next?

A: "The officer still will go before a departmental hearing," Kelly said. "Consequences can be severe. There's a federal investigation that is being conducted and of course there will be a civil suit as well."

Q: How can police restore trust?

A: "You have to work at it every day," he said. "It's the type of business ... where you're always going to have some friction. Nobody is totally going to be happy with the relationship that they have with the police. They are the bearers of bad news."

But, he added, "communication is key."

Q: Are you worried about violent protests?

A: Kelly pointed out that New York City has the biggest police department in the country, and is well equipped to handle protesters. That's unlike in Ferguson, where multiple police departments were called in to help, he said.

But, "hopefully it will be a peaceful set of demonstrations that we'll see."

Q: What is the NYPD doing to prepare for that?

A: "Officers are being deployed to key locations trying to get information," he said. "Trying to get some intelligence to where those demonstrations might be. They're talking to community leaders. They're obviously communicating with the mayor, with people in Staten Island, and other organizations in the city."

Militants kill pro-government elder and his family in NW Pakistan

A local official says militants in northwestern Pakistan shot and killed a pro-government tribal elder along with his wife and son.

Political administrator Arshad Khan says insurgents attacked Toor Khan and his family when they stormed their house in the Bajur tribal area near the Afghan border Thursday.

The slain elder played an active role in setting up a militia force to fight the Taliban in Bajur in early 2009. Pakistan's army declared victory in Bajur earlier this year after two offensives in the area.

However, militants still occasionally target troops and citizens allied with the government. The attacks underscore the continued ability of the militants to intimidate locals in the area.
