JESSICA SIMPSON'S NEW THEME SONG "WHO WE ARE" TO MAKE ITS WORLD RADIO PREMIERE

Los Angeles, CA - March 9, 2010 - Jessica Simpson's new song, "Who We Are" will make its world radio premiere on Tuesday March 9th. The song will also serve as the theme for her new series "Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty" which will premiere on VH1 on Monday, March 15 at 10 pm*. The song will be available for download beginning March 9th at JessicaSimpson.com. On her new site fans can also find information about Jessica's "A Beautiful Me" movement, encouraging self-esteem in young people.
"Who We Are" was inspired by Jessica's travels around the world to discover what beauty is and means to other cultures while filming "Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty." Jessica co-wrote the song with Evan Bogart, Shari Short and Billy Corgan. The single was produced by Kerry Brown.

In the new VH1 docu-series, Jessica travels to Thailand, France, India, Uganda, Japan, Brazil, Morocco, and then back home to Los Angeles to meet every day women and local icons. Throughout the series, Jessica examines the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participates in some extreme practices in order to reveal what constitutes beauty in these foreign cultures.

Simpson said "I was so moved by the eight cultures I explored for my new show. The women I met were so incredibly different in their customs and traditions but there was a common thread between them in their beauty. I was inspired to write the theme song for the show to reflect what I observed- that there is a unique beauty that lies within each of us, flaws and all. Our hearts, our souls, our passions are what make us each beautiful."

Lady Gaga tested for lupus

(PEOPLE.com) -- Ever since she nearly collapsed on stage in March and had to cancel several shows earlier this year citing exhaustion, Lady Gaga has had pals worrying if she's on the verge of tipping.
And now the pop star's latest health scare probably isn't helping to alleviate those fears.

"I'm very connected to my aunt, Joanne, who died of lupus," she tells The Times of London. "It's a very personal thing."

When asked if she's been tested, Gaga, 24, says "yes," without elaborating on the results, adding that she doesn't "want anyone to be worried" even though the disease, in which the immune system attacks the body, can be genetic.

"I have heart palpitations and things. But it's okay. It's just from fatigue and other things," the singer, who said she fainted during her New Zealand concert because of jet lag, tells the U.K. newspaper.

Her most recent health emergency: "The other day," Gaga says about her time in Tokyo where she was "having trouble breathing."

After receiving "a little oxygen," the "Bad Romance" singer went back on stage. "I was okay," she says, again adding, "I don't want anyone to worry."

As for buzz about her thin body, Gaga wants to reassure fans that she doesn't "have an eating problem," but rather points to her busy schedule that doesn't allow her "very much time to eat."

"I really don't do drugs. I don't touch cocaine any more. I don't smoke," she says. "I take care of myself."

But don't expect her to slow down anytime soon.

"People say I should take a break," says the singer. "But I'm like, 'Why should I take a break? What do you want me to do? Go onvacation?"

Mass Effect may become a movie

Legendary Pictures, the studio that produced the recent Batman films, 300 and Watchmen, this week acquired the film rights to bring Mass Effect to the big screen.

The game, created by Canadian producer BioWare and published by Electronic Arts, offers various issues to be explored in a feature film, as imperialism, individualism or question “man versus machine”. These elements should be used by Mark Protosevich, author of scripts for films like ‘I Am Legend‘, to adapt to the Mass Effect movie. However, remember the site The Register, there is always the possibility of it being turned into a big action film with computer graphics and many heavy gunfire and explosions.

According to GameSpot, the same studio is betting on another adaptation of the game universe with a supposed movie World of Warcraft, Blizzard / Activision, which would be directed by Sam Raimi, director of Spider-Man. The fact that following the fourth Spider Released Raimi has been postponed for the production of World of Warcraft, but no prediction about this movie was also released – although it is known that he is already in production.

There is forecast for the start of Mass Effect footage, much less the film’s release. Legendary already has several projects in the queue to leave, including more than one Batman, another Godzilla movie and the already mentioned about the World of Warcraft. Therefore, any movement regarding Mass Effect should take a while.

Poggenpohl’s beautiful +Artesio kitchen to come out next year

The latest +Artesio kitchen produced by Poggenpohl is one of the best specimens of the minimalistic kitchens that is flooding the market these days. Designed by the renowned German architect Hadi Teherani, the modular kitchen was launched at Eurocucina in Milan, this spring.

“The furnishing of a kitchen is not just about fitting it with furniture and equipment. It’s about creating structures that can be lived in. In much the same way as a house opens and closes to the outside world, so too the kitchen communicates with its environment, bringing the room to life,” said the manufacturer. The kitchen does indeed fulfil the vision of its creators. It not only performs all the functions of a kitchen, but at the same time it beautifies the milieu.

In fact it is quite hard to make up one’s mind as to which feature is better than the other; is it the sleek countertops and cabinets, or the storage spaces inside. The lighting and the colouring is absolutely amazing. Just the look of it makes you want to buy it. This lovely +Artesio kitchen will be available in the U.S. markets from January 2011 onwards. Visit their website to get more information.

Militants kill pro-government elder and his family in NW Pakistan

A local official says militants in northwestern Pakistan shot and killed a pro-government tribal elder along with his wife and son.

Political administrator Arshad Khan says insurgents attacked Toor Khan and his family when they stormed their house in the Bajur tribal area near the Afghan border Thursday.

The slain elder played an active role in setting up a militia force to fight the Taliban in Bajur in early 2009. Pakistan's army declared victory in Bajur earlier this year after two offensives in the area.

However, militants still occasionally target troops and citizens allied with the government. The attacks underscore the continued ability of the militants to intimidate locals in the area.
